After all my experiences with HP Palmtops, SHARP Zaurus PDAs and all the other devices I have evaluated and used, I am constantly searching for good HP Palmtop successors.
My journey also took me to the now so famous ASUS EeePC netbooks. I have tried the models 701, 900 and 901. I have not tried the later models 1000H etc., because they are even larger than the 701 and 90x. For my taste, a "small computer" must not be larger than the EeePC 901. In the EeePC 901 I have found - for that time, which was about the year 2008 - the perfect balance between size, functionality and performance. The future will bring devices with a much better power to size ratio.
The EeePC 901 has great battery life (abt. 5 hours), is relatively small with its 9 inch screen, has WiFi, Bluetooth, a very good screen and fast Intel ATOM processor. For my taste, the 901 is the absolute "peak" in the EeePC series quality curve.
